How to reach

Shimla's airport, Jubbarhatti Airport, is about 20 kilometers from the city. However, the airport is not always operational, especially during monsoons. A better option is to fly to Chandigarh or Delhi and then take a cab to Shimla. By train, Shimla has a small railway station inside the city. The toy train from Kalka to Shimla is a popular option that takes about 7 hours. By road, the Chandigarh-Shimla highway is in good condition and takes about 3.5 hours to reach from Chandigarh. Buses run from Delhi, Jaipur, Punjab, Haryana, and parts of Uttar Pradesh.
