How to reach

From New Jalpaiguri(NJP) or Bagdogra Airport, you can hire a shared/private taxi or take a bus to Gangtok. Shared jeeps or taxis from Gangtok are available to Lachen. The journey takes approximately 6-7 hours. Note: Lachen is in a restricted area near the Indo-China border, so an Inner Line Permit is required. It can be arranged by Local operators or travel agencies. It’s advisable to apply ILP a day before your planned travel to North Sikkim.
